Notice of Public Meeting of the Board of Directors of EXCELSIOR CLASSICAL ACADEMY

Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.12, notice is hereby given to the members of the Board of Directors of Excelsior Classical Academy and to the general public that the board will hold a meeting, open to the public as specified below. The Board of Directors reserves the right to change the order of items on the agenda, with the exception of public hearings set for a specified time.

Pursuant to N.C.G.S §§143-318.11 (a)(1)-(9), the Board of Directors may go into Executive Session and exclude the public only when a closed session is required: (1) to prevent the disclosure of information that is privileged or confidential, or that is not considered a public record; (2) to prevent the premature disclosure of an honorary degree, scholarship, prize, or similar award; (3) to consult an attorney and preserve attorney-client privilege; (4) to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other business in the area or to discuss matters relating to military installation closure or realignment; (5) to establish, provide instruction or negotiate for the purchase, sale or lease of real property or the compensation and other material terms of an employment contract; (6) to discuss, hear or investigate matters relating to personnel qualifications, competency, and performance; (7) to plan, conduct, or hear reports concerning investigations of alleged criminal misconduct; (8) to formulate plans and adopt emergency response procedures and/or to adopt the school safety components or school improvement plans; or (9) to discuss, take action and receive debriefings from public officials regarding terrorist activity.

Mission Statement: Excelsior Classical Academy is a public charter school dedicated to providing excellence and equity in education by developing in every student a foundation of knowledge, a practice of reason, a quality of eloquence, and a habit of virtue, to prepare each student for a lifetime of learning and citizenship.
