Vlad Kary’s Biography
Vlad Kary was born in Ukraine. He completed his bachelor’s degree in music education from Ternopil Pedagogical University. Mr. Kary then attended Ternopil Technical University and earner a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. During that time, he was a guitarist/singer of a Contemporary Christian rock band, Shykina, and for the next 6 years they recorded 3 albums and toured throughout Europe. In 2004, Mr. Kary moved to the United States. Since moving to Durham, NC he shared the stage with the best musicians in the area and recorded his first guitar solo album “After Tonight”. Since 2008, Mr. Kary has been working as a band director at Immaculata Catholic School in Durham, NC where he built a great concert band and jazz band program. In addition to regular concert band instruments, the program includes electric keyboard, violin, guitar and more. Concert band under the direction of Mr. Kary have received the highest “Superior” rating at Kings Dominion Festival of Music in VA. Mr. Kary is excited to share his musical knowledge and experience with the Excelsior Classical Academy Family!
