Ronda Wagner’s Biography
Ronda Wagner has been teaching music for over thirty years. Her passion is to help children discover and develop their unique singing voices as a pathway to using melodic and rhythmic notation, playing instruments, moving to music, improvising and collaborating in musical ensembles. Her goal is to prepare each of her students for a lifetime of performing and enjoying music!
A graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Mrs. Wagner has taught PreK–12th grade Music in public and private schools in Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey and North Carolina. Beyond her work at ECA, she directs the Durham Children’s Choir Cantare division, a Monday afternoon community choir for Triangle children which is open to all ECA students who wish to register! In her home studio, Mrs. Wagner has taught private piano, flute and voice students of all ages. Prior to moving to Durham in 2013, she was a teacher for a community-based children’s choir and general music program in Princeton, New Jersey.
Ronda was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, and she is married to her high school sweetheart Ross. They are parents of four amazing adult children and two talented daughters-in-law. Outside the music classroom, Ronda’s interests include spending time with friends and family, interior decorating and traveling in Europe, where her family has lived on numerous occasions.
