Lynn Bowen’s Biography
I graduated from Liberty University with a degree in English Education. I began teaching just a few weeks after my December graduation. I then spent ten years teaching a variety of High School English classes before attending Southeastern and completing a Master’s degree focusing on the field of educational administration. After two more decades of teaching High School and being a Principal, I became a Student Success Counselor and Center Coordinator at Piedmont Community College. However, after two years, I so greatly missed teaching High School English classes that I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to join the Faculty here at Excelsior in January 2022. My husband and I live in Roxboro along with our two dogs and two cats. I am the proud mother of three grown sons who are now all married. One of my sons teaches English and Rhetoric next door to my classroom here at ECA. January 2022 also marked the birth of my first grandchild! It is truly an honor and privilege to work with my students each day and to be part of the Excelsior family.
