Kelly Adams’ Biography
I received my B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Community Counseling, both from Appalachian State University. Go Mountaineers!!! I worked in community mental health and substance abuse programs upon completing my degree, and was fortunate to have experiences working with inpatient, intensive outpatient, group and individual counseling.
My husband and I moved to Raleigh to be closer to family, where I was able to work as a contract therapist for Wake County Schools. It didn’t take long for me to decide that I wanted to be a school counselor. I received my M.A. in School Counseling from North Carolina Central University, and worked as an elementary school counselor in Person County. We now live in Hillsborough, and I feel very blessed to be part of the Excelsior family!
When I’m not at work, I love hanging out with my husband, our friends and family, our two amazing children, and our two dogs. I love walking, exercising, being outside, gardening when possible, watching true crime shows AND Hallmark, reading a good book, eating chocolate, and drinking coffee.
