Joshua Erb’s Biography
I’m thrilled to be teaching at ECA in my hometown of Durham, North Carolina. I graduated with a B.A. from Columbia University in 2014 with a double major in neuroscience and English literature before completing an M.A.T. with a concentration in secondary English education at Brown University. I have worked with a wide range of students, from high school seniors completing AP-level work to 3rd graders first learning the basics of grammar and reading comprehension. My passions are to help students discover their love of reading and to help them think critically about the world around them. My favorite pastimes are hiking and camping, and in 2021 I had the great privilege of trekking 2,291 miles from Georgia to Maine along the Appalachian Trail. I also enjoy yoga, tabletop roleplaying games, and all things nerdy.
