Jessica Palomo’s Biography

I obtained fluency in Spanish through a combination of study and immersion over the last ten years. I majored in Spanish at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and am completing education licensure courses at East Carolina University. I am excited to share my love of the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures with my students. With the growing population of Spanish speakers in the United States, having some level of fluency in Spanish is an invaluable skill. Additionally, learning a second language contributes to overall academic success. I am especially excited to be starting Spanish with young learners because it has been proven that children under the age of 11 are more able to acquire a second language!
