Eleanor Young’s Biography
Eleanor Crowe Young has been teaching for 18 years. She got her stars as a ceramist in residence for a local farming community in Chapel Hill and pioneered a pottery program for 800 Elementary aged learners. In 2008 she earned her M.A.T in Upper Level Social Studies and in 2012 a Master’s degree in American History. She served as Department Head of History and Social Sciences for 13 years at an Early College in Western North Carolina. Ms.Young is passionate about community building, equity and equality in education, social justice and human rights. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Young is an avid outdoorswoman, traveler, knitter, reader and movie buff. Her family occupies the center of her heart. She has been married to David Young, a professional chef and apple of her eye for 21 years and they share 2 amazing ECA students.
