From the proclamation to create National Native American Heritage Month: During National Native American Heritage Month, we celebrate Indigenous peoples past and present and rededicate ourselves to honoring Tribal sovereignty, promoting Tribal self-determination, and upholding the United States’ solemn trust and treaty responsibilities to Tribal Nations. November 1 – 30
Closure due to Expected Inclement Weather

There are a Flood Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning in effect for Durham County for Friday, September 30. We typically follow Durham Public Schools for inclement weather decisions, and they have just announced closure for Friday, September 30. Excelsior will not have school and there will be no school related activities.
