Katherine Kizzle’s Biography

My name is Katie Kizzie, and I’m thrilled to join the Excelsior community! I grew up in Stoneville, NC, and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. (GO HEELS!) My husband and I have lived in New Jersey, Delaware, and Durham, where we had our daughter (NJ) and son (DE). After working in financial customer service, I spent time at home raising my kids. I began my teaching career with Durham Public Schools in 2015. I value creating a classroom culture based on kindness and respect. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, writing, singing, hiking, traveling, and cooking.
