Born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in a military family, I learned discipline and adaptability early on. Frequent relocations exposed me to diverse environments and cultures, shaping my understanding of different communities. Despite moving often, North Carolina has been my anchor throughout most of my life. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. My career in educational leadership and social work has given me deep insights into student needs and institutional dynamics. Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to fostering supportive, collaborative school environments, guided by the values instilled in me from a young age. Inspired by James Allen’s “As a Man Thinketh,” I believe strongly in the power of our thoughts to shape our character and achievements. This philosophy informs my approach to education, where I encourage positive thinking, self-discipline, and resilience among students. I strive to create inclusive and dynamic learning environments that support growth and success for all students, reflecting Allen’s principle that our thoughts influence our outcomes. My dedication to student well-being and success underscores my belief in the transformative impact of positive thinking on individuals and communities alike.
