Driver Education through DPS

DRIVER EDUCATION AT DPS

ECA expects to offer it soon, but if you are in a hurry, you can sign up for Driver Ed at Durham Public Schools.

Spring and summer dates have been chosen for upcoming Driver Ed classes through Durham Public Schools: DPSNC.net>Students>Drivers Education>Non-DPS Student Registration. You should log in promptly at 9:00 am on the day registration opens because of limited space. 

All classes are online via zoom.  Students must use a device with a working camera and microphone.  Attendance is required for all 30 hours of the course.

DPS will offer 4 classes during the spring semester of 2024 via zoom.
Class dates:
Jan. 4th – Jan. 25th     Registration for this class will be Dec. 9th at 9am
Before school class 6:30 – 8:30
After school class 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Class dates:
April 15 – May 3           Registration for this class will be March 30 at 9am
Before school class 6:30 – 8:30
After school class 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Summer class dates will be determined in late spring.

More information:

  1. Families can find information about the graduated license at NC DMV.
  2. The Driver’s Education Certificate the student receives from the approved driver education course never expires.
  3. The Driving Eligibility Certificate the student obtains after course completion from ECA’s Receptionist, Ms. Jacky Hernandez, is good for only 30 days, and the parent/student should make an appointment with the DMV already within that time.
  4. Parents and/or students should bring the Driver Education Certificate with them to the school when requesting their Driving Eligibility Certificate so Ms. Hernandez can ensure the addresses written on both documents match.
